Bonac Bowlers Bring Home the Gold!

Springs School hosted the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament at Bowl Long Island in Patchogue this past Saturday. Our "Bonac Bowlers" team was responsible for leading the athletes in the Pledge of Allegiance, the Athletes' Oath and the Torch Run. Bowlers from all around Suffolk County joined the competition. Students Paula Retana and Juliana Figeuroa both won gold. Liam Baum and Isaiah Brodie both won silver and Robbie Matz won a bronze medal.  "Our athletes have improved so much this season that they barely needed the help of the coaches anymore!" said organizer Mrs. Reidlinger.

The next event will be the 2014 Special Olympics Long Island Spring Games South on Sunday, May 18th  at Southampton High School. Athletes will compete there in Track and Field and Tennis events. To volunteer, please see the Springs School homepage for more information.
