September's Citizens of the Month were announced at Spirit Meet on Friday.

September's Citizens of the Month are third grader Emma Tepan and fourth grader Emily Kennedy. According to her teacher, Mrs. Lesta, Emma is a compassionate student who helps others on a daily basis without being asked. She respects her teachers and classmates each day by making positive choices. Emma always has a smile on her face and loves to cheer up any student who is not smiling. "Emma is a hard-working student and tries her best each day," said Mrs. Lesta. "She is a perfect Citizen of the Month!"
Emily's teacher says, "This award was created for Emily." Mr. McCormack states that not only is Emily intelligent and extremely hard-working, she is also kind, caring, and helpful in all areas of our school. "This is not the last time you will hear her name in our community," said Mr. McCormack. "I'm sure that anyone who has worked with Emily would not be surprised by her receiving this award." Congratulations, girls!

Junior High Citizens of the Month

The junior high Citizens of the Month are sixth graders Alexander Venegas and Alexander Chavez. Both boys exhibited compassion for another student when they were in the front of the school recently during morning arrival and noticed a kindergarten student get off the bus and walk toward the parking lot instead of the front doors. Alex V. and Alex C. went over to the young boy and held his hand all the way into the building. They exhibited caring and helpfulness toward a younger student who needed assistance and acted as "perfect" Citizens of the Month. Way to go!
