Red Ribbon Week was celebrated last week. Students wore jerseys to school on Tuesday to show that they "Say No to Drugs and Say Yes to Sports." Also on Tuesday was a "Making Healthy Choices" assembly held for grades kindergarten through third presented by Officer Kim. McGruff made an appearance once again, to the delight of the young audience.

Also on Tuesday was a presentation by M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for junior high students in grades seventh and eighth. Students were shown the dangers of drunk driving, including some student volunteers who wore goggles that demonstrated what it's like to have blurred vision.

Wednesday was "I am Too Bright for Drugs" day where many students wore bright and neon colors. On Thursday, students wore all types of hats for "Put a Cap on Drugs" Day and grades fourth through sixth attended a cyber safety assembly presented by SCPD Detective Forrestal.

Friday rounded out the week with "Wear Red Day" and the winning class was announced for the ribbon decorating contest. Mrs. Hallman's first grade class won! They will receive a pizza party for designing the winning ribbon. Congratulations!
