JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS WIN NEWSPAPER'S SHORT STORY CONTEST

Two junior high students won a contest for writing short stories and were featured in The Independent newspaper for their "Short and Scary" contest. Seventh grader Skylar Minardi won first prize in the seventh & eighth grade category with his story, "The Gnarly Wave." Sixth grader Rorey Murphy’s story won third place in the fourth through sixth grade category. According to their teacher Adam Osterweil,  during their short story unit in Writing, students learn how to add imagery, suspense, and dialogue to their stories. Congratulations!
