An Italian Lunch fundraiser held last week raised over $2,500 for a local family. The money raised will help make Christmas just a little bit brighter for the Springs School family that is going through an extremely difficult time after suffering a great loss. The lunch was spearheaded by Jeanine Burge, a parent of two current Springs School students. "The fundraiser idea was born as soon as the need to help a local family suffering a recent tragedy was discovered," said Mrs. Burge. "We live in a very special community where everyone is more than happy to lend a helping hand, even if they don't personally know the people involved."

The hot food, garlic knots, and salad were donated by local restaurants Springs Pizza, Pepperoni's, Sausages Pizza, Luigi's, Astro's, Fierro's, La Capannina, Nick & Toni's, Dreesan's, Indian Wells Tavern, Bostwick's Chowder House, and Silver Spoon Specialties.

A special thanks to Karen McFarland, Kimberly Belkin, John Foster, Tammy Krahe, Karyn Mannix, Claire Condon, Patty Yardley, Liz Fuchs, Denise Forde, Cheryl Hartsough, Laurie Mamay, Mara McDonald, Zully Ramirez, Jenn Hagan, Linda Caulder, and to all the parents, staff, and community members who baked delicious desserts for the bake sale.
