Student Competes in Brookhaven National Lab Science Fair

Sixth grader Bella Tarbet participated in the Brookhaven National Lab Elementary Science Fair last weekend.  Over 129 schools took part in the competition. "Bella has been working with me for the past two months on the project outside of school," said Science teacher Sean Knight. "Her project tested how running speed can be affected by different types of surfaces."  Bella ran on the track, beach, turf, grass, pavement, and wood in shoes and bare feet to test out her theories. She created graphs and a poster of all her data on her own time. "For her first science fair, she did very well and made our school proud!" said Mr. Knight. Congratulations, Bella!
