Visiting artists have been keeping Springs School students busy in art class recently. Bookmaker and Poet Megan Chasky visited Mrs. McGowan's third and fourth grade art classes. In third grade, students created "accordian-style" poetry books. In fourth grade, students made horizontal-style poetry books with handmade paper covers. These poems are now displayed in the hallway for all to share. According to Mrs. McGowan, Megan referenced her late father's (artist Bill King) sculptures and shared several of these, which helped students brainstorm ideas for their own art.

In kindergarten, Visiting Artist and Master Puppeteer Irena Grant taught students how to make "spoon puppets."
