Seventh graders in Mr. Walker's science class took on the "Marshmallow Challenge" an attempt to build the tallest structure - using spaghetti, masking tape, string, and one marshmallow. The goal is to have the structure support the marshmallow without collapsing. The winning team's tower measured 17 inches! The Challenge is a great team-building activity, and requires students to collaborate, generate ideas, and be creative. It also gives students a chance to reflect on their experience, and see what they would do differently if building one the next time.
