The third annual "Great Pumpkin Contest" is starting now! This year, there is not only one pumpkin growing in the garden, but TWO! One orange pumpkin and one white pumpkin. Both started from seeds that were planted last year during Project Most. The contest is spearheaded by Springs Seedlings/Project Most greenhouse advisor Hailey London. Each class will have a chance to guess the pumpkins' weights, and the winning class will win the pumpkins and a fun pumpkin lesson.

Last year's winning class was Mrs. Ramsden's! The class guessed a weight of 18 pounds, which came closest to the actual weight of 19.2 pounds. Squash beetles destroyed most of last year's crop, so the pumpkin was a lot smaller than the previous year's, which weighed 28.8 pounds.
