The third annual Springs School "Turkey Trot" returned on Monday, November 21st! Despite wind and a chilly temperature, students and staff members all took part in this fun run/walk to help raise money for the PTA.  Just like last year, School Street and a portion of Old Stone Highway were closed, with the help of the East Hampton Town Police Department and Fire Department. Parent volunteers assisted along the route by helping to keep everyone safe, all while cheering them on! A special thank you goes out to the PTA, all the volunteers, Chief Sarlo from the East Hampton Town Police Dept, Officer Kim Notel, and all the police and ambulance volunteers who were present.

This year's event raised $8,600. The funds raised support the PTA's Swim Program for grades K-5, and an ice-skating event at Buckskill for grades 6-8.  The winner of this year's Turkey Trophy is Mrs. Branche's class, who raised $650! Fifth grader Sophia Rodriguez was the winner of a Round Swamp gift certificate donated by Round Swamp Farm, and second grader Danny Pedro won a turkey donated by One Stop Market. Congratulations!
