Our Bonac Bowlers once again reached for the gold at the Special Olympics Bowling tournament in Patchogue this past weekend! Our gold medal winners included Robbie Matz, Juliana Figueroa, and Liam Baum. Sean Lester won a silver medal and so did first-time bowlers Tristian Hydeman and Nicole Verdugo! "We are so very proud of how hard our athletes and their teachers work to be able to participate in Special Olympic events like today," said Coach and Occupational Therapist Whitney Reidlinger. "A big thank you to all the staff that showed up bright and early to help out, especially after a late night of awesome basketball! It is so nice to see our Springs School family rally around our athletes and help them succeed!"
The next event will be the 2017 Special Olympics Long Island Spring Games on Sunday, May 7th at Bellport High School. Athletes will compete in Track and Field and Tennis events. It's a great outdoor event and everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer on our Springs School athletes! Please contact Mrs. Reidlinger if you're interested in volunteering.
