Recently, the third and fourth grade physical education classes participated in Jump Rope for Heart. JRFH is run by the American Heart Association. "The goal of the program is to teach students how to keep fit and healthy, all while having fun and raising money for heart disease research and education," said Coach King. Informational fundraising packets were given out to students by Coach McKee and if students chose to participate, they had a month to raise money. Aside from fundraising, all students participated in a vigorous jump rope unit for two weeks during their physical education class and were encouraged to continue practicing their jump rope skills at recess. By the end of the fundraising period, the grades were able to raise $440. Sasha Dutrieux raised the most money with $95! The unit was led by Coach McKee.
