Thanks to the Anna Lytton Foundation, Poet Megan Chaskey visited sixth grade E.L.A. (English Language Arts) classes for two sessions this week to teach students the beauty of poetry. Chaskey is a poet and writer and has taught poetry on the East End for years. The classes were introduced to several poems which they read together and explored the imagery created by word choice. Students then created a group poem, before writing their own the next day. According to Anna's mother, Kate Rabinowitz: "Poetry was such a special class for my children when they were at Springs. It helped them in every aspect of their academic and personal creative life."

The Anna Lytton Foundation provides numerous programs to Springs School, including art and writing workshops, mindfulness workshops, and field trips. More information, and ways to donate, can be found on their website by clicking here.
