It was a busy week for the Springs School Diversity Ambassadors!  The fourteen sixth grade Ambassadors visited the United Nations headquarters in New York City to learn about the organization's peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts around the world.
Then, the following day, these sixth grade Ambassadors, along with Ms. Cleary, Ms. Winter and Mr. Casale,  traveled to the Suffolk County Legislature to accept an award from the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission and Inter-Faith Anti-Bias Task Force.  County Executive Steven Bellone pubically thanked the students and presented a certificate that reads, "In recognition of your commitment to human rights and your efforts to foster mutual respect and inclusion within your school community."
In addition to the Suffolk County award, Ms. Cleary and the Diversity Ambassadors received an official citation from the New York State Assembly and Representative Fred Thiele.  The proclamation will be read on the Assembly floor and entered into public record.  Congratulations!
