Today September 21 was International Day of Peace. I would like to thank our BOE, Ms. Winter, Mr. Casale, Mrs. Cleary, Ms. Kelly, Mr. Jones, Mr. Gibbons for our music, Ms. Marino, Mr. deHavannon for our peace dove, Mr. Hallman and Isaac Rodriguez for the drones, Mr. Newman and Mr. Drew for drawing the peace sign and all of our staff and students for participating and carrying out acts of kindness and respect everyday at our school and in our community.

The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on the 21st of September. We at Springs School are celebrating today and joining the world, with our thoughts and actions. Peace day was established in 1981 by an unanimous United Nations resolution, the General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to “commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.”

This year’s theme is The Right to Peace, this is to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A peaceful community is one where there is justice and equality for everyone. This year Spring’s School will continue its own journey towards peace.
