Our fifth graders are wrapping up our Lego robotics units. During this unit, the students had to complete many task that involve building and coding different robots.  We began by creating Milo, a rover that is similar to the Opportunity rover sent to Mars.  In one photo, you see the students were given a task to code two Milos to pull a load.  The students then had to create a robotic car to see who could engineer the fastest model.  We ended out unit with a challenge to create a rover that would continually move around and room and use a coded sensor to stop and back up when obstacles are in the way, just like the rover on Mars would have to do.
