The after-school Plein Air Painting class visited Pussy's Pond last week to take inspiration from nature. Plein Air artists Alyce Peifer, Gene Samuelson, and Frank Soto mentored twelve junior high students and taught them how to create their own Plein Air paintings. "Plein air," meaning "open, or full, air" in French, was an art movement began by French Impressionist artists Claude Monet, Camille Pissaro, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who advocated for painting outdoors.
