Kindergartners finished their "Materials in Our World" unit by creating volcanoes! "Students were learning about clay, so we used clay to create animal sculptures and then transformed them into volcanoes," explained Mr. Knight. "The students had to learn to measure the exact amount of baking soda (2ml) and vinegar (10ml) using a syringe for the first time. We learned that in some volcanoes, gas builds up and explodes like Mount St Helen." The kids had a great time creating their volcanic eruptions!
