Response to Intervention (RtI)


Response to Intervention (RtI) approach is a multi-tiered intervention model with three tiers to address academic and/or behavioral concerns to meet the diverse needs of all learners. At each tier, interventions for academic and behavioral support are prescribed in order for students to be successful. High quality instruction begins in the general education setting that is differentiated and responsive to the learning needs of all students. RtI utilizes school-wide assessments and implements targeted interventions that become increasingly more intensive based upon students’ responses to those interventions.
